    Description

Contraband was a short-lived rock supergroup that included members of several famous rock bands from the 80s. The band featured Michael Schenker from UFO and The Michael Schenker Group on lead guitar, Share Pedersen from Vixen on bass, Tracii Guns from L.A. Guns on guitar, Bobby Blotzer from Ratt on drums, and Richard Black from the relatively unknown band Shark Island on vocals. The group came together after Vixen and Ratt performed on MTV Unplugged together with Schenker.

The band released only one album, the self-titled Contraband album in 1991. It did generate a minor radio hit with their cover of Mott The Hoople's song "All The Way From Memphis", but the album only reached #187 on the Billboard charts. After a short tour, Contraband broke up, and the members returned to their former bands. The group has no plans to reunite again.
